“I’m no math major but here’s the equation I see at work as these resources are utilized: the triune God who promises to transform His people ever increasingly into His likeness + people desiring to see their faith in Jesus make a difference in their struggles with suffering or sin + the Living and active Word of God + relevant biblically-based resources + heart-searching questions + reflective journaling + honest sharing in group each week + the powerful presence of God’s Spirit = saints who are increasingly walking “in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God” (Colossians 1:10). What brother or sister wouldn’t want to see this glorious work in their own lives? What pastor or leader wouldn’t want to see a congregation full of people growing in this way?”
Michael R. Emlet, Author, CCEF Faculty and Counselor
“What makes [these] group[s] so powerful is the honesty [they] foster. The workbook's questions and biblical direction opened the door to vulnerable, open sharing about our individual struggles. In response, group members consistently offer empathy, genuine care, love, and prayerful support. No judgment, just compassionate listening and encouragement."
Jacques Erasmus, Pastor and RI Manager of Biblical Counseling Africa
“Gary and Linda have pulled together a practical tool with a powerful effect. (It is) an outstanding resource for drawing a community into a more vital and dependent walk with Christ."
Ste Casey, Pastor, Counselor and Author, Liverpool, UK
“Imagine Christian brothers and sisters gathering together to humbly seek help for a shared struggle. Imagine them learning from God's Word together, and hearing from one another, as they each commit to several weeks of devoted study and reflection. Isn't it beautiful to imagine? [These] workbooks have made this vision attainable for churches."
Lauren Whitman, Author, CCEF Faculty and Counselor

“I've given into the lie that I can get through struggles on my own more often than I'd like to admit. Soul Care Groups have both confirmed and reminded me that only the One who created my heart could ever cause the change I really need. The groups are not the solution, but a strong, structured path pointing towards the One who is. Jesus.”
Josh, Participant
"This group and these books were like finding a spring of water, welling up and overflowing with hope, where previously there was only despair for me."
Stacy, Participant

What Are They Talking About?
SoulCare Groups are designed to be a turnkey solution to help you bring biblical counseling into your church with a low threshold of training and preparation for your staff and volunteers. Whether you are a small group of believers drawn to one of the SoulCare topics, a church of 50+ who want to start a biblical counseling ministry, or a megachurch with a desire to add groups-based care to your already thriving biblical counseling ministry, SoulCare Groups were designed for each of you in mind. From organization and leadership to facilitating and growing the ministry, One Measure Ministries developed these curricula to help bring counseling back inside the church for Christ’s glory and all our good.
SoulCare Groups are biblically rich and topically intensive, facilitated SoulCare studies. Gathering in gender-specific groups of three to ten individuals, you will dig deep into one area of shared sin or suffering in a safe and confidential setting designed to promote honesty, transparency, and vulnerability.
You will sit together as brothers and sisters in the Lord, studying God’s Word, patiently processing the hard realities of life. You will glean insights from the experiences of one another, seek God’s wisdom, pray together, and find help and hope beyond what the world can offer. Participants should anticipate a three-month commitment that will require daily devotionals, reflective journaling, and weekly participation in a two-hour discussion group.
If you have ever wondered what God’s Word has to say about your struggle or how to navigate your situation faithfully as a believer, SoulCare Groups are for you. Though SoulCare Groups are not intended to solve every problem, they are designed to help believers grow deeper in relationship with the Lord in the midst of their trouble(s). Utilizing relevant scriptures and the best of the biblical counseling resources available, our workbooks will guide you through the journey with compassion, compelling writing prompts, and an eye to making all the reading accessible on a street level.
Our goal is to help you move beyond mere head knowledge and into the deep recesses of the heart. God’s word demonstrates this is how people change, one measure (or degree) at a time. Surely, God sees the heart, but do we? Taking a close examination of what resides there is what will facilitate the process of transformation that Scripture calls sanctification.
And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit.
2 Corinthians 3:18
We hope and pray that you will be blessed by this journey called SoulCare Groups. We are already anticipating that God will move on your behalf.
